Two partners, a short client list

Digital Marketing Inspector is run by the two people who do the work. There's no account manager between you and them, because there isn't anyone else for you to be handed to.

  • More than 30 years of combined experience
  • You work with the partners, not a team you never meet
  • Month-to-month, and you own every account
Who does what

Whichever of the two owns your work is the person you deal with.

The people

Both partners work on client accounts. Neither of them sells and hands over.

Arash

Technical Guru

Owns everything the machines touch: development and integrations, the tracking underneath every report, site performance, and the structured data that helps search engines and AI assistants describe your business accurately.

More than fifteen years of building things that still have to work a few years later. He'd rather use an existing plugin that does the job properly than write something clever nobody else can maintain. The test he applies to any build is whether another developer could pick it up in three years without ringing him.

Megan

Marketing Wizard

Owns what clients see and search for: strategy, search and local presence, advertising, and the content that has to answer a real question rather than fill a page. Also the monthly reporting, and the argument when the numbers say something nobody wanted to hear.

More than fifteen years in search and advertising, long enough to have watched several things that were going to change everything turn out not to. It's part of why she's unimpressed by tactics that work brilliantly for a quarter and leave a mess behind, and why the reporting leads with what decides something rather than what flatters the work.

How we work

Five things we've decided, which shape everything else.

  1. Your accounts are in your name

Analytics, Search Console, ad accounts and the Google Business Profile belong to you, with us added as users. If we part ways you keep the history, the audiences and the data, which isn't true of every arrangement in this industry and is the single easiest thing to check before you hire anyone.

    In whose name
    Google Analytics and Search Console
Google Ads and social ad accounts
    Google Business Profile
The website, the code and the domain

All yours, on day one and on the last day.

  2. Measurement comes before anything is optimised

We fix conversion tracking before touching bids, because a bidding algorithm trained on bad data doesn't just waste money, it learns the wrong thing and gets more confident about it. It means the first fortnight of an engagement can look quiet from the outside. It's the part that makes everything after it worth doing.

    Order of work
    1Verify what's actually being counted
    2Fix what's wrong
    Then optimise against real numbers

    Every report afterwards inherits this.

  3. We say when the spend won't pay

Advertising is billed as a percentage of spend, so telling a client not to advertise costs us money. We do it anyway, because a business whose economics can't carry Los Angeles click prices will find that out eventually, and it's better to hear it before the budget than after it.

    When we'll say no
×Click prices the margin can't carry
×No way to measure what it produced
×A landing page that can't convert the click

Said before the budget, not after it.

  4. Nothing that has to be undone later

We don't buy links, rent placements or use private networks. We don't write claims that get an ad rejected or a page penalised. Everything we build is meant to still be working in three years, which rules out most of the things that produce a fast chart and a slow problem.

    Not on offer
    ×Paid link placements
    ×Private blog networks
    ×Guaranteed rankings
    ×Reviews you didn't earn
  5. A short client list, on purpose

Two people can only do this properly for a limited number of businesses, so we keep the list short rather than hiring to fill it. You get the partners rather than whoever was available, and we get to know a business well enough to be useful about it. It's also why we occasionally say a project isn't for us.

    What that means for you
    No account manager relaying messages
The person who answers did the work
Sometimes we're full, and we'll say so

What we don't do

Worth knowing early, so nobody wastes a meeting.

Email and SMS marketing

We don't run it, and we'd rather say so than subcontract something we can't stand behind. For most stores it's a real channel, and it's worth having someone good on it.

Compliance and legal opinions

We build to platform rules and standard practice, on advertising policy, accessibility and the rest. We're not your counsel, and where something needs a formal opinion we'll say so rather than guess.

Pricing and revenue strategy

What you charge, and what you agree with the platforms you sell through, is yours. We work on being found, being chosen, and measuring what came of it.
